Couple days ago I was looking for that tool, but I haven't bookmarked it. So just in case I put it here. Podinfo is a tool which fulfill needs of running something in Kubernetes for test purpose, until I found it the most popular image was a nginx or something written from scratch. Now using podinfo you can simulate some scenarios like:

  • delay response
  • failing liveness/readiness probes
  • websocket
  • gathering prometheus metrics
  • canary deployment

Some scenarios are also available in httpbin, but it weights more. The second reason of using podinfo is to get info how apps running in Kubernetes should be written. App itself is pretty simple and you can analyze it to get some patterns for you, if you wish to find some alternatives to modules used it that project you can find it in awesome-go.
